Drawing Fundamentals I: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mrs. Stephanie Silverman
Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing from observation. A variety of drawing concepts, techniques, and materials will be introduced.
Jazz Band: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Dan Collins
Open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders with at least one year of experience playing any of the following instruments: trumpet, trombone, saxophone, bass, guitar, piano or percussion. Camp attendees will gain experience reading jazz charts, learn to improvise, and play as an ensemble.
Introductory Drama I: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Brian Manelski
Students will be introduced to the basics of warm-up exercises for voice and body, improvisational theatre, and character development.
Robotics: 10 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Neil McCall
Participants will work alongside Archmere Robotics Club members to program and design Lego Mind-storms robots to complete various challenges. They will design drag racers, cranes, and a vehicle to navigate through an obstacle course. No previous programming or Lego experience is necessary.

Forensic Science: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Glenn Hartman
The forensics camp experience would provide an introduction into the arena of forensics science. Participants will have the opportunity to critically analyze DNA data and evidence to draw appropriate conclusions. Some processes that would be included would be blood typing, fingerprint analysis, unknown substance analysis, and DNA fingerprinting.
Creative Writing: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mrs. Karen Linton
Through the use of journals, free-writing and structured activities, writers will explore the genres of poetry and the short story. Writers will create portfolios of original work and select a piece to present during our end of camp reading. Individual work will also be published in a camp anthology.
Ecology: 9 AM - 12 PM, Dr. Jennifer Christy
Explore the science of Ecology by conducting experiments on the Archmere campus. Students will use the greenhouse as well as conduct research and experiments outside on the campus fields and woods.
Drama II: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Brian Manelski
Students will develop concepts from Drama I and explore playwriting while developing their own scripts with their own invented characters.
Culture, Cooking, and Creativity: 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM, Ms. Heather Debby
Students will do a “World Tour” - of 5 days - through reading, writing, and cooking. Students will read about particular countries, prepare a dish from those countries, and create a cultural journal. Countries to be explored include: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.
JUNE 28 - July 2
Physics Camp: 9 AM - 12 PM, Mr. Tom Hoch
Students will work on hands-on projects, employing basic physics and engineering principles. Students will collaborate in small groups building a machine and competing in a fun week-ending contest against other campers.
