Our 2008-2009 Annual Fund ended on June 30 with outstanding results. Gifts to the Annual Fund totaled $382,347, up 38% over last year. The Matching Challenge Grant, doubling all gifts over $275,000, added an additional $107,346 to the Annual Fund for a grand total of $489,693! Thanks to everyone who contributed their time, talents and financial resources to help make this Annual Fund one of the most successful ever. And, a special thanks to our alumnus who helped to secure the funding for the Matching Challenge Grant!
Unrestricted gifts provide essential dollars that allows Archmere to provide an exceptional learning environment for the whole student in the Norbertine tradition. This year (2009-2010), our goal is to raise $475,000. Annual Fund contributors send a powerful message to both the Archmere family and local funding institutions by showing that they believe in our school and its mission. Your support is necessary to maintain the strong partnership between a great school, great parents, and a great community. There are eight giving societies to recognize donors for their generous contributions to the Annual Fund. All donors are mentioned and recognized by society in the school’s annual report. The Challenge Continues ... For the second year in a row, Archmere has received a Matching Challenge Grant. An alumnus, who wishes to remain anonymous, has secured this funding from the same foundation who generously gave last year’s Annual Fund over $107,000 as a Matching Challenge Grant. This is very exciting news!
This year, the Matching Challenge Grant will work two ways. First, every dollar received over last year’s gift total of $380,000 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $75,000. Second, this year’s Annual Fund will be eligible to receive $25,000 (to a maximum of $75,000) for every percentage point increase in Alumni participation over and above last year’s level of 14%. That means for every 40 alumni who donate for the first time, regardless of the amount, we will receive a $25,000 match. We can receive up to $75,000 if 120 alumni donate to the Annual Fund for the first time. The 2009-2010 Annual Fund has the opportunity to earn an additional $150,000 from this year’s Matching Challenge Grant.
Take the challenge for the 2009-2010 Annual Fund ... your generous gift will bring us closer to the $380,000! And alumni, when you contribute you will help raise our Alumni participation!
