Conor McAvinue '17 Wins Young Artists' Competition

Archmere junior Conor McAvinue was recently named the winner of the 2016 Irving Ludwig Young Artists' Competition. Conor performed on the viola, playing Hindemith Der Schwanendreher Mvt. III and competed with thirty other students. The Competition is well-known in the Delaware Valley and draws contestants from as far as Pittsburgh and New York. As a winner, Conor will be the soloist performing with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra (LSO) in the spring of 2017 for the Yong Artists' concert. Widely regarded as the top local community orchestra, the LSO now offers a season of 5 concerts performed at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and at other area venues.
