Joe Singley '16 Signs Letter of Intent to Play Baseball at Tulane University

Joseph Singley, senior at Archmere Academy, signed his letter of intent to join Tulane University’s baseball team on May 2, 2016. Tulane University, located in New Orleans, LA, is currently ranked 16th in the nation in NCAA Division 1 Baseball. A baseball player and catcher since the age of four, Joe has played varsity baseball for Archmere ever since his sophomore year.
 
During his Archmere career, Joe’s accolades include throwing out over 75% of base stealers in 2015 and 2016, as well as compiling a .993 fielding percentage. Joe currently leads Archmere in Doubles, Homeruns, RBI's, and Walks, and has a batting average of .345%. His junior year he was named to the All Conference Team, and senior year was a member of the Pre Season All-State team.
 
In addition to his high school baseball team, Joe has also played for nationally ranked club teams. During his sophomore and junior years he competed in the Men’s Delaware Semi-Pro League. In 2015 he caught for the Colorado Rockies Pro Scouts and the Delaware North Carpenter Cup team.
 
Aside from athletics, Joe enjoys lifting weights and participating in Archmere’s Award Winning Fine Arts Program, and is a member of the National Art Honors Society. Freshman year, competing with juniors and seniors, he won two Silver Keys and two Honorable Mentions in the Regionals of the National Scholastics Scholarship Art Awards Program. Since then, he has piled on many more Silver Key and Gold Key Awards. He scored an AP5 in AP Drawing and Painting, and this year he recently submitted his portfolio for AP 2-D Design.
 
Joe is a resident of Wilmington, DE and is a graduate of Immaculate Heart of Mary elementary school.
