Senior Payas Parab '15 Chosen As Delaware Delegate For American Legion Boys Nation

Archmere student and Aston, Pennsylvania resident Payas Parab '15 was selected as one of two delegates to represent Delaware at American Legion Boys Nation this summer, held July 18 through July 25, at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia with daily trips to Washington, D.C.
Chosen based on criteria of leadership skills, academic record, and activity at American Legion Boys State, Payas will be one of 98 high school student representatives, or state "Senators," throughout the U.S. to attend Boys Nation, a week-long program designed to give young men with political aspirations a practical view of federal government procedures. Graduates of the program include former U.S. President Bill Clinton and U.S. Senator Max Baucus, MT.

Payas was elected to the office of Attorney General in the Delaware Boys State program held earlier this summer. He plans to pursue a career in politics and law as an attorney.

In addition to his participation in Boys State, Payas is involved in Mock Trial, T.E.A.M.S. (Co-Captain), Science Olympiad, Varsity Soccer (Captain), and Concert Band (Alto Sax). He is a member both of the National Honor Society (2 years) and Spanish Honor Society (3 years). Payas has also been elected as President of his Class three years running.
