93 Archmere Students Named 2014 AP Scholars

Ninty-three students at Archmere Academy have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams, with 16 earning National recognition.
Sixteen students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2014 – Michael Bannon, Elizabeth Burton, Zixin Cao, Benjamin Creekmore, Cierrah Doran, Jonathan Lobo, Rebecca Peet, Evan Rapone, Kevin Reardon, Colton Takata, Brian Zhang, and Justine Zhang and from the Class of 2015 – Mark Melvin, Mathew Oslin, Payas Parab, and Raylin Xu. 

Forty-five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2014 – Aaron Allender, Noah Anderson, Olivia Arasim, Michael Bannon, Lucy Barr, Julia Beranato, Giuliana Brawley, Margaret Bree, Elizabeth Burton, Brian Canfield, Zixin Cao, Nicholas Costa, Benjamin Creekmore ,Kenneth D’Aurizio, Cierrah Doran, Michael Esposito, Michael Ford, Collin Graf, Andrew Hahm, Jonathan Lobo, Maryanna Lynch, Clee Malfitano, Jack Malloy, Caitlin Marky, (over) Miranda Mazzio, Alexandra Nielsen, Claire Orzel, Rebecca Peet, Evan Rapone, Kevin Reardon, Mannat Sawhney, Allison Sullivan, Colton Takata, Alexis Ulmanis, N’Dea Yancey-Bragg, Brian Zhang, and Justine Zhang and from the Class of 2015 – Meibin Chen, Mackenzie McDougal, Mark Melvin, Matthew Oslin, Payas Parab, Savannah Quinn, Nicholas Xiao, and Raylin Xu.

Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2014 – Mercedes Chartier, Anna D’Eramo, Emily Fulginiti, Jonathan Gazzillo, Camryn Hicks, Kelcey Hutchinson, Laura Jogani, Molly Kennedy, Eileen McAlonan, Kristen Mulvihill, and Kelly Tibbetts and from the Class of 2015 – Preet Bhaidaswala, Michelle Bolner, Alana Bradley, Kathleen Dempsey, Emily Dentinger, Robert Focht, and Anna South.

Thirty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are from the Class of 2014 – Jordan Aulen, Nathan Beatson, Brandan Bree, Joseph Dayrit, Conor Furey, Kelly Hutt, Delaney Leonard, Geoffrey Merz, Haley Moore, Cara Nedbalski, Jacqueline Sinnott, and Liam Walsh and from the Class of 2015 – Daniel Bannon, Colleen Carney, Claire Caverly, Sean Devine, Sarah Dlugos, Matthew Gallagher, Madeline Guido, Kassidy McVey, Elizabeth Millard, Devon O’Dwyer, Alexander Rabil, Emily Simons, David Sullivan, Zane Wilson, and Audra Woodside and from the Class of 2016 – Greg McCord, Rahul Subbaraya, and Caleb Wang.

Of this year’s award recipients at Archmere Academy, thirty-three are sophomores or juniors: from the Class of 2015 – Daniel Bannon, Preet Bhaidaswala, Michelle Bolner, Alana Bradley, Colleen Carney, Claire Caverly, Meibin Chen, Kathleen Dempsey, Emily Dentinger, Sean Devine, Sarah Dlugos, Robert Focht, Matthew Gallagher, Madeline Guido, Mackenzie McDougal, Kassidy McVey, Mark Melvin, Elizabeth Millard, Devon O’Dwyer, Matthew Oslin, Payas Parab, Savannah Quinn, Alexander Rabil, Emily Simons, Anna South, David Sullivan, Zane Wilson, Audra Woodside, Nicholas Xiao, and Raylin Xu and from the Class of 2016 – Greg McCord, Rahul Subbaraya, and Caleb Wang. These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.

Through 34 different college-level courses and exams, AP provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement and stand out in the college admission process. More than 3,800 colleges and universities annually receive AP scores. Most four-year colleges in the United States provide credit and/or advanced placement for qualifying exam scores.
