Purple Heart Recipient Nick Romano '63 Addresses Memorial Day Crowd

Archmere alum and Vietnam Veteran Nick Romano '63 spoke to residents of Bonita Springs, Florida about what it means to him to be a veteran and to have served his country, as the Keynote Speaker of a special Memorial Day ceremony held at Riverside Park on Monday, May 26.
After a 21 Gun Salute, Nick shared his moving story as a Purple Heart recipient with those community members in attendance - fellow veterans, families, politicians, police officers, and firefighters. He had the audience's undivided attention, especially as he mentioned the Philly Cheesesteak, Archmere Academy, and his mother Rita. Following Nick's speech, a special plaque and scroll with over 500 names of veterans was presented in honor of those fallen heroes who died in service to their country.
