Art Students Recognized at Regional Scholastic Art Competition

Archmere students won close to 100 awards at the Delaware Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s most prestigious and competitive contest for excellence in fine art. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth since 1923. The awards have grown to be the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition initiative for creative teens, and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers. Work is evaluated based on originality, technical skill and emergence of a personal voice or vision. Students across America submitted 255,000 original works during the 2018 Scholastic program year.

Archmere's art students have always won strong recognition in this competition. All Gold and Silver Award-winning artwork will be exhibited January 15th through February 9th at the Arts Center Gallery at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware. A reception will also be held for students and their families on Saturday, February 9th. In addition, one of our students has been nominated for the American Vision Award which will be announced to the public during the awards ceremony. The Gold Keys move on to the national level from this point.
