Archmere Choir to Give Performance at Carnegie Hall

On Friday, March 8th, the Mastersingers of Archmere Academy will travel to New York to prepare to sing with The National Youth Choir under the direction of Anton Armstrong, conductor of the St. Olaf Choir of St. Olaf College in Minnesota. The Mastersingers will have two days of rehearsal with Dr. Armstrong before Sunday evening's premier concert in Carnegie Hall.

The National Youth Choir is made up of 7-10 choirs from across the country who were invited to send in audition material before being chosen to participate. This will be the Mastersingers third appearance in Carnegie Hall. The first was in 2013 under the direction of Dr. Henry Leck, where they also were the featured solo choir, and again in 2015, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Seelig, and were once again the featured solo choir.

The concert is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10th, and will be open to the public. Tickets are available on Carnegie Hall’s Website, and will also be available at the box office the day of the performance.
