Boys' Swimming Places 5th in the State

The Archmere Swim Team competed in the 2019 DIAA Swimming & Diving Championship Finals on Saturday, February 23, 2019. The State Preliminaries were represented by 27 girls and boys from the swim team, with just 6 members of the Boys' Team earning a spot in Finals on the 23rd. Congratulations go out to these 6 swimmers whose hard work put Archmere in 5th place overall out of 31 schools! Senior Julian Iacono made the podium by placing 3rd in the 100 Butterfly. He also placed 7th in the 200 free, and was named to All-State Second Team. Senior Emily Lugg and Sophomore Jacob Piretti also represented Archmere at the All-State Banquet as MVP's. Owen Hendrixson '20, Jacob Piretti '21, Joseph Marino '21, Nate Hendrixson '21, and Maximus Iacono '21 competed in Consolation Finals and/or Relays, all earning personal best times during the meet. These 6 young men also qualified for Finals in 2 of their relays (200 Medley & 400 Free), each finishing in 5th place! Congratulations!
