2019 Fine Arts Festival

On March 23rd the Archmere Academy Fine Arts department showcased our students' artistic accomplishments with a wonderful exhibition of their creativity. The Art Department invited Gregory Barna ’93 back to Archmere to recognize him for his fantastic accomplishments in the film industry. The Michael Curcio scholarship was also awarded to Meghan Presta ’20 for her incredible portfolio presentation. The evening also highlighted a showcase of vocal and instrumental artists who performed masterfully to end this wonderful festival. Thank you to all who attended the event and hope to see you next year!

Math League Awards

This month, at the Math League Invitational competition in Dover, Archmere's 9th grade team earned 2nd place in the State. The team consisted of freshmen Nick Zhu, Ben Wei, Simi Edeki, Ryana Rajesh and Mandy Jiang. Nick Zhu '22 also won First Place as an individual at the Invitational. 

In cumulative math meet rankings, Nick Zhu '22 earned Individual First Place for the region, and Ben Wei '22 earned 3rd place in the region.

Science Department Trip Spring Break 2020

The Science Department has once again designed an incredible trip for next April 9-16, 2020Experiential Learning: Marine and Terrestrial Science in Belize. Belize is the only English-speaking country in Central America and is adjacent to the 2nd largest coral reef system in the world. Students will hike and explore terrestrial tropical ecosystems (lowland savanna, tropical savanna and tropical rainforests) while staying at the internationally recognized Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center. The zoo contains only injured or orphaned native wildlife. Students will join research teams and/or participate in a service project for conservation at the zoo. Students will snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef including 2 marine reserves while staying on Tobacco Caye in the Caribbean Sea. Students will visit the Smithsonian Institute Research Station on Carribow Caye and learn about current marine research. 

Science Department trips always have expert naturalist guides from the region who are both incredibly knowledgeable about the plant and animal life but also have great interpersonal skills. Other Science Department trips have included Kenya, Fiji, Kenya, Egypt, New Zealand, Alaska and most recently, Costa Rica. 

A $250 deposit will insure the student's spot on this trip. The price for the trip is $3100 which includes air transportation, all accommodations, entrance fees, all activities, meals and beverages, travel insurance.
