Jack Nielsen '20 Signs to Play Baseball at East Stroudsburg University

Jack Nielsen, senior at Archmere Academy, signed his National Letter of Intent to join East Stroudsburg University’s baseball team on November 14, 2019. East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is a Division II athletic program located in East Stroudsburg, PA that competes in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic ConferenceJack will be continuing his academic and sports career at ESU under Head Coach John Kochmansky. A varsity baseball player since freshman year, Jack helped the Auks reach the playoffs last year.
In the 2019 Archmere baseball season, Jack had 12 appearances with 9 starts, including Opening Day, for a 5-3 record with 3.1 ERA, 1.2 WHIP, and 1.3 SOIP. Over half of his appearances were in conference games and 6 starts were against Top 10 ranked Delaware high school teams. He started at 1B in 9 games and batted in all 18 games with stats that included a 0.333 BA, 0.431 OBP, 0.421 SLG, 12 RBIs and 15R. 

Jack is a two time selection for USA Baseball NTIS-Team North Atlantic (2017 & 2018 as RHP), two time Diamond State All Conference recipient (2018 Honorable Mention and 2019 2nd Team for 1B), two time Carpenter Cup selection for Delaware North (2018 DH and RHP 2019), and two time selection to the Perfect Game WWBA All-Tournament Team (2015 RHP & 2019 1B).

Aside from Archmere baseball, Jack has played summer league with the West Chester based All Star Baseball Academy Futures for the past four years (RHP/1B) in addition to Titus Sports Delaware. He has also participated on the Archmere soccer team and helped to organize the Wounded Warrior Fund Raiser for the Archmere baseball team.
 
Jack is a graduate of St. Edmond’s Academy in Wilmington, DE.
