"Chicago High School Edition" Nominated for Multiple Cappies Awards

The Cappies, "Critics and Awards Program," is a program through which high school theater and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews. The Cappies is an international program for recognizing, celebrating, and providing learning experiences for high school theater and journalism students and teenage playwrights. Getting published earns a critic points towards that critic award. Archmere's winter musical, Chicago High School Edition, was a Cappies show this year, and hosted over forty critics from all over the Philly area.
The reveal of the nominations for this year's Greater Philadelphia Area Cappies Awards were announced live on Youtube.com this week. Archmere's Winter Musical, Chicago High School Edition has been nominated for six Cappies Awards:
Hair and Makeup - Gianna Abbrescia
Choreography - Alexis Rendel
Ensemble in a Musical - The Cell Block Tango Murderesses
Solo Dancer - Alexis Rendel
Lead Actor in a Musical - Riley McAvinue
Song - We Both Reached for the Gun
This is the first time that Archmere has ever been nominated for Best Song in a Musical!
The Cappies Awards Gala will be held online on Sunday, June 7th. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of Chicago High School Edition!
