Football Team Defeats Red Lion 35-16, Moves to Semifinals

The road to the football State Championship began on Saturday, November 18th for Archmere. The Auks took on Red Lion at home on Coaches' Field in front of an energetic crowd. The opening drive set the tone for the game - Archmere took a quick 7-0 lead with seven minutes left in the first quarter. The game went back and forth until right before halftime, when the Auks went up 19-8 on Red Lion with 3:35 left, followed by a blocked punt and another touchdown three plays later.
 
The second half was dominated by Archmere offense. Quarterback Miles Kempski '24 passed for 120 yards, Brendan Burke '24 rushed for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pj Blessington '24 recorded 9 tackles. The Auks are set to play Woodbridge in the state Semifinal game at home on Saturday, November 25th at noon. Tickets are $6 and must be purchased in advance at the DIAA GoFan website.
