Archmere Math Team Places First in Online Personal Finance Challenge, Second in the State Finals

The Personal Finance Challenge (PFC), sponsored by the University of Delaware Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship, tests student knowledge on topics related to Earning Income & Protecting and Insuring, Using Credit & Buying Goods and Services, and Saving & Financial Investing. For the online competition, students individually complete a 30-question, rapid-fire exam. Each student is given 35 minutes and all team members complete the test on the same day. Out of 10 schools, 18 teachers, and 733 students who participated in the County Online PFC, Archmere's team placed first. The team included Mark Ludwigson, Tyler Faulker, and Drew Savon, and was supervised by Math Teacher Chris Mascioli. They received a trophy and each team member will receive a cash prize.

On April 19th, the Archmere team placed second in the State Finals of PFC, held in Newark, DE. The students competed in three rounds of multiple choice tests and an exciting quiz bowl round. The team was coached by Chris Mascioli and included Dom Cipriano, Darren DeRezno, Charlie Sanders, and Joe DeGregorio. They received a trophy and each team member and their teacher each received a cash price.
