Jack Nielsen '20 Leads Auks in Win Over Milford
On Saturday, May 12th, the Archmere baseball team shut out Milford, 5-0. Sophomore Jack Nielsen posted nine strikeouts, throwing a complete - game four hitter on Archmere Senior Day.
Mike Lang writes of Jack's performance, "Nielsen set the tone early, striking out the first batter he faced...He also had two hits – a double and a single – and got on base three times. On the mound, Nielsen struck out nine and needed just 79 pitches in going the distance."
Emmett Bice '18 hit a Home Run in the second inning, and fellow senior Max Gioffre also contributed to the win with two hits, a run scored and two RBI's on offense.
The Auks, 11-6, have been on a four game winning streak, even boasting a big 9-5 defeat over rival Salesianum on May 10th. Archmere will complete the regular season on Thursday, May 17th at 4 p.m. at Polytech.
