Volleyball Wins Big in Season Opener
Archmere took on a "determined" Smyrna squad in their volleyball season opener on September 7th. The Auks won the game 3-0 with set scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 26-24. The Dialog headline reads, "Kochie, Edmiston Lead Archmere Volleyball to Sweep of Smyrna", due to the combined efforts of juniors Julia Kochie, who had 11 kills and 14 digs that evening, and Lauren Edmiston, who contributed 12 kills and 2 aces. Both players came out strong in front of a spirited crowd on Friday night.
Hannah Wright '21 led Archmere with 16 digs, while Sydney Niumawaitalu '19 was credited with 29 assists. The Auks (1-0) combined for 12 aces. They will take on St. Elizabeth on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.
