Archmere Academy Presents Winter Musical: "The Addams Family"

Archmere Academy Dramatics is proud to present its production of The Addams Family, a musical comedy based upon The Addams Family characters created by Charles Addams and made famous by the hit television show and the subsequent movie reboots. The musical runs February 22nd and 23rd, March 1stand 2nd at 7:00 PM in the Archmere Theater. 
 
The musical, including all of the iconic Addams Family clan, Morticia, Gomez, Uncle Fester, Pugsley, Lurch, and others, follows the antics of goth daughter Wednesday as she falls in love with a normal boy, Lucas Bieneke. When the lovers' families meet for the first time, chaos and fun ensues. The show includes huge dance numbers such as "One Normal Night" and "Tango D'Amor", and beautiful love songs such as "Moon and Me" and "Happy/Sad". The book for the show was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher). The music and lyrics were written by Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Wild Party). 
 
Riley McAvinue '20 stars as Gomez, Katherine Alberta '19 as Morticia, and the infamous Uncle Fester is played by Kyla McAvinue '19. Wednesday and Pugsley are played by Bella '19 and Gianna '21 Abbrescia. Lurch is portrayed by David Demnicki '19, while Thing and Cousin Itt are played by Jayna Cabra '19 and Alyssa Pierangeli '21. The Bieneke family members are Matt Witterholt '19, Elise Brady '20 and Zach Christie '21. 
 
Directed by Mr. Brian Manelski, there are 25 Archmere students in the chorus and over 50 students in the cast and crew. Mrs. Meagan Thomas leads the choreography team that includes students Abigail Gilbert '19 and Trixie Moore '19. Costume design was led by Alexis Rendel '21 and Annalise Tonn '21, and set design by Katie Yakovenko '21, Meghan Presta '20 and Gianna Abbrescia '21. Mr. Damian Demnicki supervised the set construction.  
 
The show will run two weekends, Friday, February 22nd and 23rd, and March 1st and 2nd at 7pm in the Archmere Performing Arts Center theatre. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at http://our.show/archmere-academy/8535. Tickets are $5.00 for students of any school, faculty, and senior citizens. $10.00 for general admission.
