Girls' Lacrosse Wins in Semifinals, Will Play for State Championship

Congratulations to the Archmere Girls' Lacrosse team for defeating Padua in the semifinal round of the DIAA State Tournament! The Auks won 9-3,  with sophomore goalie Maura Smeader shutting out the Pandas in the second half.

"They took care of business emphatically Tuesday night at Caravel Academy’s Bob Peoples Stadium. 
Archmere avenged a regular-season setback against Padua in the DIAA Girls Lacrosse Tournament semifinals and earned its first state final appearance in the tournament’s 22-year history. Seniors Caroline Donovan and Kate Olsen each had four goals and an assist and sophomore goalie Maura Smeader made one big save after another in the 9-3 victory."

The Auks will play defending champion Cape Henlopen for the State Title this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Dover High.
