Archmere College Counseling Announces "Three Questions with the Admission Office" Video Series

Archmere Academy College Counselors Mr. Chris Boehm and Ms. Catherine Souza recently launched a You Tube video series titled, Three Questions with the Admission Office. The series will focus on question and answer sessions with Admission Counselors, Deans and Directors about the industry, and in particular, their university or college. The first video in the series includes an interview with Mr. John Mahoney from the Admission Office of Boston College. Previously the Dean of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid, Mr. Mahoney was appointed as Boston College’s Vice Provost for Enrollment Management last year.

From the College Counseling Interview with John Mahoney:
John Mahoney, Boston College’s Vice Provost for Enrollment Management joins Archmere College Counseling for our Three Questions with the Admission Office interview series. Mr. Mahoney discusses the value and benefits of a Jesuit liberal arts education, shares college search recommendations, explains Boston College’s decision to incorporate the ED and ED2 application process, and also talks about recent trends in college admissions. Mr. Mahoney (at 29:37 of the interview) shares a wonderfully eloquent explanation of the importance of an applicant’s college essay and the qualities that make up excellent writing samples. John concludes with the exciting news about the creation of the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society, which will open in the fall of 2021, with the goal of educating Boston College students on how to confront real world problems in energy, environment, and human health. The initiative will also result in the college offering an engineering major.
