Monthly College Counseling Update: December 2019

Senior Career Experience Day

The Senior class participated in our annual Career Day this month. 118 Archmere seniors visited over 60 different hosts at a variety of companies throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Experiences included meetings with city officials, engineers, and state police officers, sitting in on surgeries, and learning more about drones and robots. We are grateful to our hosts who included alumni, current and past parents, faculty spouses, and other friends of the Archmere community.

Meeting with the Class of 2019

Individual meetings with the Class of 2019 have begun, and the second of the two Junior Parent College Nights will be January 14th. Parents can register at
https://pickatime.com/client?ven=11607878&event=330383. College Counseling asks that at least one parent attend one of the two nights. We will begin family meeting signups after the January program.

Practice Testing

Over seventy students participated in a free practice ACT. A free practice SAT will be offered on January 11th; students can register at https://pickatime.com/client?ven=11607878&event=342799. We recommend that juniors discuss actual testing options with the College Counseling staff and consider taking the February ACT and/or March SAT (offered at Archmere). Registration deadlines are a month prior to the actual test date.
