Lucy Oliver '24 Scores 20 Points in Comeback Win Over DMA

On February 8, the Archmere girls' basketball team scored five straight points midway through the fourth quarter to break the tie in an exciting game against Delaware Military Academy, defeating the Seahawks 37-32. Sophomore Lucy Oliver led the game with 20 points and 10 rebounds, her second consecutive double-double.
Lucy Oliver was the first to tie the game a few seconds in, after she stole the ball away from an opponent and went half the length of the floor for a layup. The teams were back and forth after that, with the Auks taking a 9-8 lead after junior Lydia Scarpaci hit a three-pointer with 4:15 remaining in the half.

Mike Lang of the Dialog wrote of the last few minutes:

"After a few unfruitful possessions for both teams, Oliver stepped up again. She slashed her way to the basket for a layup with 2:10 to go, giving the Auks a 32-30 lead. After a turnover by the Seahawks, Allison Lengkeek fed Oliver underneath for another bunny. Oliver then hit one of two free throws to extend the lead to five."

Archmere is currently 10-6 and will play Padua Academy on Tuesday, February 15.
