Archmere Wrestling Ends Successful Season, Sends Three Wrestlers to Individual Championship

The Archmere Academy Wrestling team finished 9th out of 18 teams at the 2022 DIAA Independent Qualifier on Saturday, February 19. Six wrestlers finished in the top 8 in their weight class including three that qualified for the DIAA Individual Championship Tournament. Brandon Carr ’25 and co-captains Luke Kryka ’22 and Conor France ’22 earned the opportunity to compete for a State Championship this weekend. 
Brandon Carr '25 finished second at 126 pounds and improved his season record to 23-4. Brandon is the number two seeded 126 pounder in the upcoming State Championship Tournament. Luke Kryka '22 finished eighth at 138 pounds and will be making his second career appearance in the State Championship Tournament. Conor France '22 finished 4th at 220 pounds and will be making his third career appearance in the State Championship Tournament as the 8th seeded wrestler at his weight. He currently holds a 18-6 season record going into the weekend. 
 
The DIAA Individual Championships begin on Friday at 4:00pm at Cape Henlopen. Wrestling continues on Saturday at 10:00am with medal rounds starting at 5:00pm.
