GAP Fashion Designer Juliana Pereira Presents to Mrs. Silverman's Junior Portfolio 3D Design Class

On Friday, March 25, GAP Fashion Designer Juliana Pereira presented to Mrs. Silverman's Junior Portfolio 3D Design class. Ms. Pereira was a featured presenter at Archmere's Junior Career Day. Archmere College Counselor, Mrs. Catherine Reigner, kindly connected Ms. Pereira with Mrs. Silverman to provide 1:1 professional level feedback for the Junior Portfolio students, who are currently working on apparel projects created out of recycled and found materials. The students have been tasked to elevate or recontextualize an everyday, undervalued material and transform it through an iterative design process into a wearable work of apparel. The projects will be on display at the April 30 Fine Art Festival (1-4pm).

Ms. Pereira's critique was the final in the 2021-22 Visiting Artist Program Series, generously funded by the Phelan Family. Other visiting artists and guest critics featured in the series this year included commercial artist Jeff Schaller and Robert Bianco AIA, Principal architect, who is providing professional-level feedback and insight on the Junior Portfolio 3D Design outdoor classroom design project.

In process photos of the class designs can be found here.
