Boys Lacrosse Wins First Round, Moves on to Quarterfinals

At home in front of a spirited crowd on May 24, the Archmere boys lacrosse team defeated Concord High School 21-0 in the first round of the State Tournament. The team, now 15-1 and boasting a twelve game winning streak, will play Wilmington Friends at home on Saturday, May 28 at 11:30am in the Quarterfinals. The Auks, seeded #1 heading into the State Tournament, won the Diamond State Athletic Conference Title this spring and the Sportsmanship Award for the conference.
"Archmere entered the DIAA boys lacrosse tournament as the No. 1 seed among the 16 teams, and on May 24, the Auks looked the part in a first-round win over the 16th seed, Concord. The Auks scored three times in the first two minutes, then put the game away with an explosion at the end of the first quarter on their way to a 21-0 shutout."

Juniors Alex Starnes and Danny Kupiec led the team with four goals. Sophomore Drew Duncan had a hat trick and sophomore Breandan Marley added two goals. Eight different players had a single goal.
