Monthly College Counseling Update: September 2022

The College Counseling Office is a very active place right now. Seniors are in daily for Fall Family Meetings, practice interviews, essay reviews, and application questions. We’ve returned to a busy college admission representative visit calendar and are approaching 100 scheduled appointments. We’re average three-plus visits daily.
In the coming weeks of Senior College Seminar we are discussing communications with colleges and interviews, what happens after submitting an application, and will welcome college admission guests to virtually walk seniors through the life of an application from submission to decision.

Important information for juniors includes several programs and regional college fair opportunities. As a reminder we recommend that each student visit a minimum of two or three colleges prior to the Junior Panel on November 17th. This program is required for all members of the Class of 2024; parents are more than welcome to attend. Below is a list of upcoming opportunities to learn more about the college search and admission process from our office and other professionals.

Upcoming Regional College Fairs:

PACAC Delaware County College Fair - Thursday, September 29th from 6:30 - 8 pm at PSU Brandywine
Delaware School Counselors Association Career & College Fair - Tuesday, October 25th from 6 - 8 pm at University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center
NACAC Philadelphia National Fair - Sunday, October 30th from 11 am - 3 pm at Philadelphia Convention Center

You can find our College Fair Guide on the College Counseling resource page. Students should attend a college fair if they are interested in learning more about specific colleges in attendance, wish to talk to an admission representative, or want to explore and learn more about a wide variety of colleges. If you are questioning whether you should be attending please reach out to the College Counseling Office.
