Archmere Art Students Sweep Scholastic Art Competition for a Third Year in a Row!

For the third consecutive year, Archmere won more individual awards and more Gold Key awards than any school in the state of Delaware at the 2023 Scholastic Art Awards Show! Seventy-one Archmere Academy Students Recognized with 142 awards in 11 art and design categories including 4 Portfolio awards.
On the 100th anniversary of the nation’s most prestigious high school competition for art and design, seventy-one Archmere Academy art students won recognition for their fine art accomplishments in the 2023 Delaware Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s most prestigious and competitive contest for excellence in fine art. Student work is evaluated based on originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal voice or vision. Gold Key awards represent the top 5% of work entered into each category, and Silver Keys represent the top 10%. All Gold Key award winning work now advances to the national level of the competition, where students will be eligible for additional scholarships, exhibition, and publication opportunities.

What’s Next for Award Winners:
A pre-recorded awards video presentation will be publicly released on February 12th
American Vision Art Award Decisions: Friday, January 20th, 2023 (American Visions are the pieces recognized as the Top 5 works in the state of DE, one will be the National American Visions Winner for Delaware, Top 50 in US)
An exhibit of Gold Key award winning work will be displayed at the Arts Center Gallery at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Presentation and Exhibition
The Awards presentation will be created in a virtual video released on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
The Gold Key Awards Art & Writing Exhibition will be live January 23-February 11, 2023. The exhibition will include a special exhibition component celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program. The exhibit will be held at Delaware State University's ACG (Arts Center Gallery) in Dover, Delaware.

Exhibition Hours:
 -  Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 10:00am-4:00pm
 -  Thursdays (1/26, 2/2 & 2/9): 10:00am-6:00pm
 -  Saturdays (1/28, 2/4 & 2/11): 12:00pm-4:00pm
 -  Please note that the ACG is closed on Mondays.

All pieces awarded a Gold Key at the regional (state level) are then advanced to the national level for additional awards, exhibition, publication, and scholarship opportunities. National Medalists are typically announced in March.
