Angela Zhang '26 Wins Multiple Awards at Artists Simply Human Dance Convention

Angela Zhang ’26 was awarded individual and group honors at the Artists Simply Human (ASH) dance convention, held this past weekend in Philadelphia. Angela dances for the American Dance Academy. Dancers and programs from all over the area performed for the industry’s top choreographers, dancers and teachers from the commercial, concert and university worlds. The American Dance Academy received the Studio of Excellence award the same weekend. 
The diverse Artists Simply Human faculty range from the Directors of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, to choreographers for Pink, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, to an Emmy Award Winning Choreographer, and everything in between. The Regional Tour consists of two days of convention classes as well as a Performance Showcase. It is an opportunity for dancers to perform their pieces in a supportive and non-competitive environment while receiving video critiques and specialty awards from the ASH Faculty.
 
Angela won the following individual awards at the Artists Simply Human convention:
 
- Judges Choice award for her solo, Nicest Thing
- ASH Apprentice Runner-Up and Apprentice (Scholarship Finalist): full scholarship for next year's regional tour, full scholarship to ASH Nationals
 
Angela won the following group awards at the Artists Simply Human convention:
 
- Technical Execution award for herduet, Hanging on to Hope
- True Artist and Studio Selection awards for her small group, Downstream
 
Angela was also chosen to dance for ASH Company Intensive, On Tour.
