Classes 1980-1989

Austin Appleton '89 retired from the U.S. Army on 19 May 2017 after over 24 years of active service with his last assignment as the Deputy Commander of the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Him and his family have since moved to Houston, TX where he will be employed by the Harris County Engineering Department as the Deputy Chief of the Design Services Division.

John V. Stephano '82
is a Training Analyst with Prince William County Government in Virginia. In June, he was presented with the County Executive Award for his work designing and administering the Supervisor Equivalency Credit Program. This 16 week program provides county employees who lack supervisory experience a chance to meet the minimum mandatory requirements for promotion into supervisor role. John and his life long partner Shelli live in Centreville, VA with their four feline children.

Ann Lenkiewicz Grim '86 and 
Kelly Gilboyne Rasero '86 joined former tennis coach Nancy Keiper at the 2016 Sports Hall of Fame Banquet at The Patio on February 19th. The 1986 State Championship Girls' Tennis Team celebrated the 30th anniversary of their championship win. 

Maria Repice '83
successfully defended her title taking home the gold medal at the 38th Spanish National Powerlifting Championships (Raw/Unequipped) held in Órgiva (Granada), Spain on April 2, 2016. She holds the overall title in the under 63 kg. category.

Paul Topete '84
welcomed his third child, Jasmine Selah Topete, with wife Tarrah Beth on April 13, 2016.

Ann Lenkiewicz Grim '86
competed in the 2015 Middle States Sectional Tennis Championships in August. Her 18 and over 4.0 division came in third place out of six teams that competed.

was nominated to compete in the European Classic Powerlifting Cup held in Spain on November 28, 2015 where she took first place in the under 63 kg category.

graduated valedictorian from Strayer University in 2005 when he received his MBA in graduate school.

Joseph M. Dougherty III '86
and his family are half way through a two-year relocation from Rome, Italy to Wayne, PA. After living in Rome for twelve years, where he was married, Joe and his wife, Barbara, who is from Rome, decided to bring their children, Sara (11) and Nicole (9) to the USA. The children are enjoying being near Joe's family and attending Radnor schools. Nicole made her First Communion on April 11, 2015 at Saint Katharine of Siena Church in Wayne. Joe holds the same position he held in Rome, VP of Sales for Elanex, Inc. He has also joined the Radnor Fire Company as a volunteer firefighter.

July 2015

Maria Repice '83 competed in the Spanish National Powerlifting Championships held March 28, 2015 in Alhaurin de la Torre, Spain. She defended her 2014 Masters I category title with a final deadlift of 313.5 pounds.

Phillip B. “Jay” Storm, M.D. ’86 and Adam C. Resnick, PhD recently participated in the Champions of Change Campaign in Precision Medicine at the White House. They were invited by the nonprofit Dragon Master in recognition of their pediatric brain tumor research. Following the White House visit, Jay traveled to “Camp Sunshine” in Maine to offer guidance and support to children with brain tumors and their families. Jay currently serves as the chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Austin Appleton '89 and wife Emma welcomed the birth of their first child, Daniel Lawrence, on March 8, 2015. Austin and his family currently reside in New Orleans where Austin is the Deputy District Commander of the New Orleans District, US Army Corps of Engineers.

Jeff Flynn '86 was named Director of Economic Development for the City of Wilmington by Mayor Dennis P. Williams in November of 2014. Among other duties, the city's economic development director is tasked with mapping out the plan that will bring jobs and growth to the city. 
 
David Hogan '87 and wife Michelle welcomed their fifth child, Connor Patrick, born on August 25, 2014; Connor was 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches. Father Joseph McLaughlin, O.Praem. baptized Connor Patrick on November 29, 2014 at Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Greenville, DE. Connor's sisters, Kaeleigh '14 and Grace '18 were sponsors. Connor has two other sisters, Gabby and Margaret. Dave, who works for Springleaf Financial Services, lives with his family in Wilmington, DE.

Amanda Cheetham Green '81 works for the Massachusetts Department of Education in the Special Education Policy Unit, with a focus on helping young adults in special education make the transition from school to independence.  Amanda and her husband William Green '79 have three sons.  Their oldest son, John, is out of school and living in Connecticut. Their sons Paul and David are in college at Swarthmore and Amherst respectively.

Maria Repice Cuesta '83 competed in the Spanish National Powerlifting Championships held in April 2014 in Alhaurin de la Torre, Spain. She took home the gold medal and is the national champion in the Masters I category. Maria has been living on the Costa del Sol with her husband and two children for the past 14 years. Lt. Col Austin T. Appleton '89 has returned to the States after serving overseas for 6 years. He has been assigned as the Deputy District Engineer for the New Orleans District in the US Army Corps of Engineers.
 
January 2015

Nathan Andrisani, Esq. '88 and Allyson Miller Andrisani '88, along with their three daughters, Alexa (16), Olivia (14), and Sophia (11) ,spearheaded a children's choir performance in Philadelphia's LOVE Park to support the Make-A-Wish foundation. Their daughters launched the effort in 2006 as a way to spread christmas cheer and support the foundation. The annual performance now includes dozens of children and has raised more than $130,000 for Make-A-Wish. The money they have raised has helped to grant wishes to fellow children fighting life threatening illnesses.
 
Hyunjoo (HJ) Byun Fleming '88 and her husband, Dean, live in Alexandria, VA and keep busy with son David (13) and daughter Sarah (10). HJ works as a Federal Budget Analyst. She recently completed her second Komen 3-Day/60 mile walk this past October and also enjoys playing the flute in church. HJ loved catching up with fellow Auks and former faculty at the recent Class of '88 25th Reunion in October.

Bob Quercetti '89 and his wife Diane and had their 3rd child on January 26, 2013.  Santino Paul weighed in at 8lbs. 2 oz.  He joins his brother Bobby (14) and sister Marissa (11).  They live in Aston, PA, and Bob is the President and Owner of American Floor Systems. (picture to the left)

Joseph P. Egan '84 recently enjoyed a short visit with his family in Folcroft, PA while in town for a nearnby business meeting. Joe and his wife, Becky, have lived in South Korea for the last 6 years. 

Frank Wickersham '82 and his band, Class Action, recently competed in Fortune's 13th Annual battle of the Corporate Bands held at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The Fortune Battle of the Corporate Bands is an annual music competition for amateur company-sponsored bands in the US, Europe, and Australia. Frank and his Class Action bandmates from the law firm of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Coggin were one of only 8 bands selected to perform for the title of best corporate band. Frank got his first break performing an outdoor concert in front of the Manor with his Archmere classmates and former faculty member, Paul Pomeroy as part of a DFRC Blue Gold fundraiser in the spring of 1982. 

George Gioffre '89 coached his son Max in the Cal Ripken U12 World Series last summer. Max's Piedmont DE team placed third nationally. Max was awarded the Most Outstanding player in the semifinal game against New England. (picture to the left)

John Shirreffs '83 and his wife, Lisa, are pleased to announce that their son Bryant graduated with honors from Jefferson High School in Athens, GA and is headed to NC State on a football Scholarship (QB). John's younger son, Evan, will be a Junior and is #1 in his class and the starting QB for the defending state champion Dragons!

Dr. Joseph Ciampoli '86 is living in Wilmington, DE with his wife and three sons. He is a podiatrist and was named to the list of Delaware Today's 2012 Top Doctors list. 

Rebecca Ebeling Asbury '82 has retired from JP Morgan after a 26 year career and is now raising her 5 year old twins full-time. 

April 2013

Justin Warner '89's short comedy PARENT INTERVIEW is competing in the final round of the NYC 15-Minute Play Competition. Dan Hodapp '99 is in the cast. Over 300 short plays were submitted; 35 were selected for the semi-finals, and 10 advanced to the finals. The play will be performed in Series A on Friday, May 3 at 7 pm and Saturday, May 4 at 5 pm, at the American Globe Theatre in New York, NY, (145 W. 46th Street, 3rd floor) Tickets are $18 and are available online or via phone reservations at 212-869-9809. (Phone reservations pay cash at the door and must arrive 10 minutes before curtain to guarantee seating.)

Charles "Chip" Walsh '82 continues to stay involved with sports.He serves as a PIAA official in football and boys lacrosse, with games played in Delaware and Chester County. He has crossed paths, and officiated games with fellow Auks Harry Chaykun '64, Larry Ferreri '73i and Jim Downey '76.

Kevin Kelly '81 and wife Shari celebrated the arrival of their first born child on June 28, 2012. Baby Kaitlyn Marie is a happy little girl of 3 months already. (Picture to the left)

John Stephano '82 is the Dean of the School of Continuous Quality Improvement for Prince William County Government. He also teaches Group Dynamics at the George Mason University School of Public Policy and Project Management at ITT Tech. He lives in Centreville, Va with his lifelong love Shelli and their five cats.

Dr. Claire Coggins, MD '87 is a musculoskeletal radiologist living in Wilmington. After getting her medical degree from Duke University, Claire completed her radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania where she met her husband, Dr. Daniel Leung, an interventional radiologist, Claire and Dan have a son, Kieran (5), and a daughter, Lily (4).

Dr. Stephen Kushner '80 will assume the role of President of the Medical Society of Delaware as of October 20, 2012. He and his wife Pamela are also the parents of  recent alums Abigail '10, Kelsey '12, and current student Nicole '15.

Karl Boettcher '88 recently visited campus while in Wilmington visiting with friends and family. Karl has been living in the south of France for the past 15 years working as the Managing Director of a consulting firm focusing on Research & Development technologies.

Joanne Fungaroli '88 has been practicing law for more than a decade, specializing in financial services, bankruptcy and litigation. She currently lives and works in the greater Washington, DC area.

November 2011

Ciara O'Connell '87 and John Nowaczyk '87 - In January 2011, Ryan Nowaczyk, the 11-year old son of Ciara and John, was suddenly diagnosed with a large brain tumor. Ciara and John reached out to the only neurosurgeon they knew, their old friend and fellow Auk Jay Storm '86, who they soon found out happens to specialize in pediatric brain tumors. They also learned from a variety of sources that Jay is among the most highly regarded surgeons in that field and that CHOP, where Jay practices, is one of the best 2 or 3 hospitals in the US in that specialty. Jay and the team at CHOP took extraordinary care of Ryan and successfully removed the tumor. Follow-ups to date show no sign of disease and prognosis is excellent. The whole family is grateful to Jay and his team for all they have done, and to everyone in the Archmere family who prayed so hard for Ryan in that dark time.

Cathy Glaberman '80 has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) by the American Institute for CPCU. The American Institute for CPCU is an independent, nonprofit educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete eight rigorous courses and national examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements.

Michael H. Daney '82, an attorney and resident partner in the Bel Air office of Godwin, Erlandson, MacLaughlin, Vernon and Daney LLC, was recently appointed chair of the Harford County Personnel Advisory Board by Harford County Executive David Craig. Daney has been a member of the board for the past four years. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Delaware and a 1989 graduate of the University of Kentucky Law school. He lives in Darlington with his wife, Amy Hopkins, and their two daughters, Cassie and Ellie.

A group of 1988 Archmere graduates got together to see Elvis Costello play at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby this month and had a great time. The alumni are listed left to right in the accompanying photograph.

Nick Trainer '83 and his family currently living in Atlanta, GA. His oldest son Michael is graduating high school and will be attending The Honors College at the University of GA in the Fall. He and his wife have three other children still at home - Kaitlin (15), Danny (11) and Meaghan (7).

Anthony A. Latini, Jr. '82, CFA, recently joined the investment banking team at Boenning & Scattergood as managing director. Mr. Latini goes to Boenning & Scattergood with more than 20 years of experience and expertise serving in corporate finance advisory and investment banking roles to insurance companies, banks and middle market companies. Prior to joining Boenning & Scattergood, he spent 10 successful years as managing director in Philadelphia-based Curtis Financial Group LLC. He has also held positions at Berwind Financial L.P., a regional investment bank, Evans & Company, Inc., an equity buyout group, and CoreStates Financial Corp., a super-regional commercial and investment banking company.

Paul Pomeroy '88 has been promoted to managing partner of Aloysius Butler & Clark (AB&C), a full-service marketing communications agency. He has worked at AB&C since 1999 and has been the director of marketing and new business development since 2003. To read more, click here.
 
Austin Appleton '89 has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and currently serving as the Chief of Plans and Operations for the United States Military Training Mission-Saudi Arabia. He will be moving in May 2011 to Milan, Italy and will be assigned to the NATO Rapidly Deployable Corps-Italy as the Deputy Corps Engineer.

Dr. Jay Storm ’86 married Stacey Jacovini on November 13, 2010 at Old Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Philadelphia, Pa. Large numbers of Archmere alumni were in attendance. Jay is a neurosurgeon at CHOP in Philadelphia and Stacey is an architect with her own firm in Manhattan.
 
John W. Rollins II ’88 and his wife Carin and two children live in Wilmington, where he is the CEO of Delaware Diagnostic Group, LLC, a medical imaging service provider.
