Wes Mullen '68 and his wife Connie are traveling to Iceland at the end of May 2017. He has also published his fourth book, Flaneur in a Porkpie Hat. It should be available in September on Amazon as well as his website, WesleyRMullen.com. His daughter Stephanie received her M.A. from Duquesne University and is living and working in Washington, DC. Wes and Connie live in central Florida.

William Matta, Ed.D '63
is pleased to announce the release of his new book, “ The Solution: a Blueprint for Change and Happiness.” The book enlightens readers on how to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. The book is available via Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Frank Braceland '68
retired in April 2015 after 31 years in retail banking and marketing management at PNC Bank.

George Schagerl
'64 served in the USMC from 1965 to 1969 and then went to Philadelphia University(PCTS) on G.I. Bill and graduated with BS in Textiles. He worked the industry in Canada and married his then girlfriend from Philadelphia University and they had four children and now have eight grandchildren. George retired at age 60 and is enjoying every minute of retirement. 

Peter Flynn '64 in an effort to find the oddest retirement hobby, joined with a biologist to study the material properties of the exoskeleton of a family of ticks. Four papers have resulted, including one reporting the highest internal pressure observed in any living organism as the tick stretches her cuticle during engorgement to 100 times her weight.

Robert T. Markel, Ph.D '61 spent 21 years as a college professor, 2 terms as Mayor of Springfield, MA, and then 11 years as Town Manager in Ipswich, MA. Bob is now semi-retired.

Jerry Carpenter '66 and his wife, Marge, are semi-retired in Broomall, PA and looking forward to Jerry's upcoming 50th reunion.

Harry Chaykun '64 just completed his 45th season as a high school football official in PA. He worked a game with Greg Polischuk '65 and worked two games with Chip Walsh '82.

Col. John M. Ramler, M.D. '68 retired after 40 years in medicine.

Robert J. Riehs, Ed.D. '65 retired after 20 years as a mathematics specialist with the New Jersey Dept. of Education.

Francis Hickman '64 retired (two weeks before becoming a "Golden Alum") after 37 years with Boeing Rotorcraft in Ridley Park, PA.

welcomed his first granddaughter, Claire Rosemary Sibre, on March 22nd 2014, and his first grandson J.D. Mistr, on October 20, 2014.

Bob Martin '61 is now running the Abbey Green Irish Shop in West Chester, PA after over 40 years in the IT industry. He is living with his wife Diane in West Grove, PA and has 3 children, 7 grandchildren and one more on the way. Bob mourns the recent loss of his very best friend and fellow '61 grad, Tom Donohue.


May 2014 

Dan Vitiello '62 married Peggy Cressy of Fairfax, VA in December of 2013. The couple honeymooned for 5 weeks in Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand. Dan stays busy supporting his parish Knights of Columbus Council, a local Giving Circle, and their mutual grandchildren. 

March 2014 

Nicholas Romano '63, a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, will be the keynote speaker at the Bonita Springs
Memorial Day Celebration at Riverside Park. He will be representing all veterans
who have bravely served our country, and who are Members of theBonita Bay 
Club,and those veterans he has come in contact with throughout his life.

Matthew Rieder '64 retired from the Wilmington law firm Grant & Eisenhofer at the end of 2013.

Wes Mullen '68 has just published his first book, City Sketches, which includes memories of the 1967 Archmere summer trip to Europe. Wes is currently making preparations for a 500-mile pilgrimage walk along the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain in May and June of 2015. His wife and daughter will join him on the month-long journey.

Anthony G. Flynn, Sr. '69 was elected president of the St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Wilmington.

December 2013

Mark J. McGovern '63 retired after 27 years at Bishop Ford C.C.H.S. in Brooklyn. He currently is an adjunct at Baruch College (CUNY) for 28 years and at St. Francis College in Brooklyn for 2 years. He is married to Chris Curran and has a daughter, Mia Curran McGovern (32) and a son, Ian Curran McGovern (29).

Kevin Martin '62 retired from coaching wrestling for 11 years at St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia with a record of 378-256. Kevin helped to organize the original wrestling team at Archmere in 1966. He will continue to coach in several developmental clubs and summer camps. Kevin also won his weight class in the USA Wrestling Veterans collegiate style champions held in Cedar Falls Iowa in April 2013.


October 2013 

Joseph A. Kuhn, M.D. '65 retired from Nephrology Associates in 2012. He is working as a senior consultant to the Chief Medical Officer ar Fresenius Medical Care. He rejoined the Alumni Council in 2013.

Joe Ferrari, Jr. '64 and his wife Carol are still residing in the Manassas/Gainesville, Virgina area where they have lived for the past 34 years. Carol has started her own business providing enterprise architecture support to Government agencies. Their daughter Carol is an attorney in Concord, NH. Joe has no plans for retirement yet.  

Charles Sibre '67 is still enjoying retirement with golf, genealogy research, reading, and auditing graduate classes.

Myroslaw J. Kyj '63 retired this year after a 36 year teaching career. During his career, he taught for 5 years at St. Joseph's University and 31 years at Widener University. Myroslaw is looking forward to the next phase of his life.

James A. Stockman III, MD '61 was presented with Special Award by the Association of Pediatric Program Directors for Outstanding Lifetime Contributions to Pediatric Medical Education and the Development of Pediatricians. Dr. Stockman is Senior Advisor for the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and Senior Fellow for the ABP Foundation. Previously, Dr. Stockman served 20 years as President and CEO of the ABP and the ABP Foundation.

Edward B. McKay '66 has moved closer to Baltimore to be near his children and grandchildren and is working as a staff accountant for the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Mark Dobson '66 is in his 33rd year teaching law at Nova Southeastern University Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He previously taught law at the University of North Dakota from 1977-1980. Mark encourages visitors stating, "My wife and I have plenty of room for visiting classmates!"

Wes Mullen '68 is semi-retired and lives with his wife Connie in Deltona, Florida. He is a freelance photographer (MullenPhoto) and also publishes two blogs, So Freaking Neat! (www.sofreakingneat.com) and Travel's Bitch (www.travelsbitch.com). His daughter Stephanie, by his first wife, is in her second year at Duquesne University. Wes' mother, Mrs. Marie A. Mullen, passed away at the age of 87 on December 10, 2012. She is survived by her husband Wes, her two children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Sibre '67 and his wife Ellen celebrate the marriages of both of their children this year: daughter Kelly in June 2012 in Grand Junction, CO, and son Brendan in November 2012 in Front Royal, VA. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in April 2012 with a trip to Bermuda.

July 2012

Stephen Jilk '65 recently hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. Retired since 2005 from working as a Forester, he is now spending time with his four daughters and seven grandchildren.

Kevin Martin '62, is still coaching wrestling at St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia and earned win #366 at the end of the 2011 -2012 season. 

Mike Miscoski '66 retired in November of 2011 after 32+ years at Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies where he served as a Product Marketing Manager and an SAP Consultant.  He is looking forward to traveling to the coast of Maine as well as internationally. He will also be taking Lifelong Learning Courses at the University of Delaware and relaxing as he happily leaves the corporate world behind. Mike encourages the Class of '66 to get in touch and join in his retirement fun. 

Charles DelCampo '61 recently visited campus after completing his 6th participation in the annual "Run for the Wall" motorcycle ride across the country that recognizes the sacrifices and contributions made by all veterans who have served our nation. Charlie is residing in Long Beach, CA and currently teaching at Cal State. 

Nick Romano '63 is looking forward to seeing all of his "old" classmates at our 50 TH reunion in Oct. of 2013. He and his wife are currently living near Naples FL. They have two children and 8 grandchildren.

John X. Denney '63 recently got together with fellow classmates Joe Lobiondo '63, Mike Tosi '63, George Flamman '63 and John Trudeau '63 to plan additional activities surrounding their upcoming 50th reunion weekend which will be celebrated in October of 2013.

Joe DiCostanza '68 has moved back to Pennsylvania after 33 years with Ford Motor Company (23 years of the time living in Michigan.) He is currently a Training Manager for Ford in the Northeast. He and his wife are really are enjoying being back in the area.

December 2011

Harry Chaykun '64 retired from his job as a sportswriter for the Delaware County Daily Times on August 27, 2011. He had been associated with the paper since July of 1967, starting as a part-time worker while finishing college and then teaching for 3 years before joining the newspaper full-time in 1971.

George Scherbak '69 is the co-owner of Ice Works in Aston, PA, where the National Curling Championships will be held February 11-18, 2012. All Auks are invited to come and watch!

John S.J. Brooks, MD '66 is the recently appointed Director of Anatomic Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He splits his time there and at Pennsylvania Hospital where he is the Chair of Pathology. John sends a "hello" out to the class of 66!

Dick Lanahan '60
recently retired after 10 years from Volvo Global Holdings' Board of Directors. His son, Derek, graduated from Oklahoma University with a Master's from the School of Higher Education in Inter-Collegiate Athletic Administration. He was associated with the men's basketball team as a graduate assistant coach.

November 2011

Mark McGovern '63 retired after 26 years at Bishop Ford H.S. in Brooklyn in June. He continues teaching speech at Baruch College (CUNY) and St. Francis College in Brooklyn.

Lou Bartowshesky '62, M.D. is a pediatrician at Christiana Hospital, DuPont Hospital and with the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Thomas G. Lewis III '62 is retired from Federal Service / U.S. Senate Staff (30 years) in Spring of 2005. He has lived in Somerset Lake since mid-December, 2009 and enjoys his hobbies; fishing and H.O. model trains. He and his wife's 8 grandchildren (ages 19 to 2) are their passion.

Charles Sibre '67 retired in April of 2011 after a 22-year US Coast Guard career and almost 18 years with Logicon and Northrop Grumman. He is now working on his golf game, volunteering at a local Family History Center, spending one hour a week in a Perpetual Adoration Chapel, and pursuing his genealogy hobby.

Robert Chambers '63 is living in Aston, Pennsylvania and is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation in 2010 after 43 years of service.

Anthony M. Tosi '63 retired in 2005; he was a US Airways pilot. For the last six years he has served as a mediator for the National Mediation Board in Washington, DC.

Dick Lanahan ’60 is entering his tenth year on Volvo Global Holdings’ Subsidiary Board. His son Derek is a graduate assistant for Oklahoma’s men’s basketball team.
 
Frank Harvey ’60 has served as Associate Dean of the School of Education at Drexel University for the past two years, and is currently serving as Director of the School of Education’s Ph.D. program.
 
John Tosi ’66 and wife Pat reside in Dallas, TX where he works for a health care software company and she works with abused women and children as ED of Hope’s Door, a non-profit. Their children, Nikki and Jack are gainfully employed and living in New York City.
 
Charles Sibre ’67 is now supporting an Army customer at Fort Belvoir, Va, and is starting to see retirement getting closer. His daughter Kelly completed her dental medicine residency and passed her board certification.
