Archmere Academy Stage Band Attends Festival Disney

On Sunday, Archmere's Stage Band and 20 members of the Jazz Ensemble returned from a four-day Festival Disney competition in Orlando, Florida. Festival Disney gives students the chance to compete with other instrumental and vocal ensembles from schools across the country. Directors can choose competitive or non-competitive adjudication for their ensembles. Festival Disney is open to concert bands, jazz ensembles, marching bands, orchestras, vocal ensembles, and show choirs.

Both the Stage Band and Jazz ensemble received marks of excellence in the competition. After their performances on a Sound Stage in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they took part in a clinic, which had them work on various aspects of the songs they performed. In addition to the Festival, the students also had time to enjoy The Magic Kingdom as well as Universal Studios for one day. It was a wonderful experience for all those who attended, students and chaperones alike.
