Cappies Students Once Again Published in the Philadelphia Inquirer

Archmere’s Cappies critic team of six students must attend five shows in the Greater Philadelphia Area and then write critical reviews of the shows that they see. The top two reviews get publishing honors on the Philly.com site. In the fall, the Cappies program visited Archmere and reviewed the fall play production of A Christmas Carol.

This week Lea Harlev '18 was published for her excellent review of Plymouth Whitemarsh's production of Rent: School Edition. Maureen Tibbetts ’17 was published again for her review of Marple Newtown's production of Peter Pan. Lea also received Honorable Mention for her review of Peter Pan and will be published on the Cappies website. Last year, Lea was nominated for a Critic Award for her published works.

The Cappies, "Critics and Awards Program," is a program through which high school theatre and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers such as The Washington PostCincinnati EnquirerDallas Morning NewsKansas City Star, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
