Auks Lifted to Victory with Homeruns by Sophomores Tommy Alexander and Mike Dellose

Yesterday the Archmere varsity baseball team took on Concord High School for their first game at home. Sophomores Tommy Alexander and Mike Dellose came through both on the field and behind the plate as the Auks defeated Concord 10-3. Dellose was Archmere's starting pitcher and Alexander catcher. Both players hit singles in the first inning, putting Archmere on the scoreboard. Alexander's next turn at bat was a high fastball deep to left and over the fence, making the score 7-2 in favor of the Auks. Archmere picked up single runs in the fourth, fifth and six innings, the final one a homerun by Dellose, who led the offense with 3 hits for the day.

Emmett Bice '18 stepped in after Dellose as pitcher, going four and 2/3 innings allowing only one run, two hits and striking out seven. Max Gioffre '18 brought two runners home with a triple to the fence in right-center.

The Auks travel to Wilmington Christian today at 3:45 p.m.
