Janssen's Market Named Country's Top Independent Grocer
Janssen’s Market, which is run by Joseph Janssen Jr. '57 who works alongside his wife Eileen and daughter Paula, has been a Greenville landmark for more than 50 years and was recently named the country’s most Outstanding Independent Grocer.
Janssen’s Market has been run by three generations of Janssen family members since its 1952 start. All the store aisles are named after local roads. It’s well known for its outstanding cheese counter - its fromagerie features more than 250 cheeses - as well in-house butchers, a seafood department and deli and an on-staff florist.
