2017 Language Awards

GERMAN:

Herzlichen Glückwunsch to all students for their outstanding scores in the AATG National German Exam. The American Association of Teachers of German recognizes the achievements of those students in Level II and higher. Students receiving awards placed first among the Delaware students.

Representing German Level 2 was Audrey Yang ’19 who placed into the 98th percentile. She received a Gold medal, certificate and cash award of $100 from the Delaware Sängerbund. Brendan Peebles ’19 placed in the 83rd percentile and received a Silver medal and certificate. John Flynn ’19 placed in the 78th percentile and received a Bronze medal and certificate.
Representing German Level 3 was Kenan Wursthorn ’18 who placed in the 91st  percentile. Kenan received a Gold medal, certificate and cash award of $125 from the Delaware Sängerbund. 
Representing Level 4 was Erika South ’17 who placed in the 97th percentile. Erika received a Gold Medal and Certificate. In addition, she received 2 cash awards of $175 and $100 from the Delaware Sängerbund and the University of Delaware. Carl Alexander Weir '17 placed in the 78th percentile and received a Bronze medal and certificate.

FRENCH:

Congratulations to our French students for their stellar performance on the National French Contest. This challenging exam, sponsored by the American Association Teachers of French, tests grammar, vocabulary, auditory skills and reading comprehension.  Approximately 79,000 students participated in the national exam in March. Chapeau bas to all of our participants! The number in parentheses represents the placement in the State of Delaware.

SPANISH:

This year over 157,000 students participated in the National Spanish Exam. We are proud to announce that 177 Archmere Spanish students received an award for their performance from the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
Students from Archmere Academy School earned a total of 5 gold certificates, 38 silver certificates, 26 bronze certificates and 101 honorable mention awards.
