Matthew Witterholt '19, Sophia Liston '20 and Danielle Cuoco '18 Win Awards at Singing Competition

The National Association of Teachers of Singing, Inc. (NATS) is the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world with nearly 7,000 members in the United States, Canada, and nearly 30 other countries. The Association celebrates the art of singing through a series of competitions and programs that are designed to showcase the talented singers and performers who are soon to be rising stars in the profession.

Congratulations to Archmere Junior Matthew Witterholt, who was awarded first place for upper high school men, and sophomore Sophia Liston, who was awarded first place for lower high school women at the Delaware Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing voice auditions at the University of Delaware on Saturday. Senior Danielle Cuoco was awarded second place for upper high school women. The singers performed three art songs and received written evaluations from a panel of professional voice teachers. The first place awards merited a performance on the honors concert, and all three students received an honorarium.
