Brennan Stark '17 Receives the Youth in Philanthropy Award

On November 15, National Philanthropy Day, recent Archmere graduate Brennan Stark '17 was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Brandywine Chapter with a Youth in Philanthropy Award at a luncheon at the Chase Center on the Wilmington Riverfront. The AFP Brandywine Chapter strives to advance the profession of fundraising and the institution of philanthropy for the public good. The chapter's more than 150 members represent educational institutions, the arts, health and human services, and environmental agencies.

Brennan not only leads but also co-founded Y Innovations Inc., a federally recognized tax-exempt 501(c)(3) scientific research based nonprofit corporation. Y Innovations Inc. aims to develop innovations and stimulate public interest in key areas of rapidly developing technology in the hopes of leading humanity into a bright future. The student-led nonprofit started in 2016 with its goal of formulating creative solutions to common problems, such as homelessness. The company has been featured by multiple publications for their first sustainable development project, a small storage shed built last fall at the Siegel JCC. In March of this year, Brennan was a key speaker at the Independence School's TEDxYouth program. The day focused on giving students inspiration to not only create change, but also move it forward in the community and the world.

Brennan is currently a freshman in the University of Delaware Honors Program.
