Archmere Academy Presents Winter Musical: "Pippin"

Archmere Academy Dramatics is proud to present its production of Pippin, a classic musical first produced in the 1970’s on Broadway starring Ben Vereen. The musical runs February 23rd and 24th, March 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 PM in the Archmere Theater.

The show centers around the character Pippin, who is the heir to the throne of Charlemagne. Pippin, growing up in an affluent world, struggles with deciding what his purpose in life will be. A group of actors, headed by the Lead Player, attempt to convince Pippin that seeking “glory” and fame is the only way to live a life worth living. Pippin must make a decision between living a life that is grand or settling for a life that is simple – and which has more permanent value.

Many of the songs from the show, Corner of the Sky, Love Song, and Morning Glow, are recognizable pop music covers by the Jacksons and the Supremes. The show is filled with dancing, laughing, crying and singing – everything that celebrates and makes life worth living. A fun night for the family and everyone in the Archmere community!
