College Counseling Presents 'Why Health Science?' Program with Help of Parents and Alumni

On the evening of March 15th, as a part of their Admission and Career programming series, Archmere's College Counseling department offered a ‘Why Health Science?’ program. The evening included an Admission Panel, Doctor’s Panel, and an Allied Health Panel. Over 100 people attended, including numerous future students from the class of 2022. The Admission Panel had representatives from the University of Delaware, Pennsylvania College of Osteopathic Medicine, Widener University and Drexel University. The Doctor's Panel included Archmere parents and one alum. Dr. Elizabeth Dainesi, Dr. Pamela Demnicki, Dr. Patricia Moore and Dr. John Witherell '86 helped to assist students in gaining a better understanding of careers in numerous health science fields, learn about the best high school preparation for college programs, and provide students the ability to express why they may want to pursue a career in a health care field.

The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) has asked Archmere's Director of College Counseling, Mr. Chris Boehm, to present several educational sessions to Jefferson County Counselors in Louisville, KY. Our Associate Director of College Counseling, Ms. Catherine Souza, along with Mr. Boehm, will be presenting sessions at the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC) annual conference this April in Dover. Also in April, Ms. Souza is coordinating the Pennsylvania Association of College Admission Counseling’s (PACAC) annual Main Line Workshops and Mr. Boehm is coordinating PACAC’s Career Colloquium; both programs are in Valley Forge.
