Andrew Shi ’20 Scores in Top 2.5% of Students on National Math Exam

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) offers a series of annual competitions. The primary focus of the organization is to foster a love of math and to improve the problem solving skills of our nation’s students. In February, 44 Archmere students joined approximately 350,000 students nationwide and participated in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC). Students who perform exceptionally well on the AMC test are invited to compete at the next level of the competition. Andrew Shi ’20 scored in the top 2.5% of students on the AMC 10 and was invited to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). In early March, Andy took the 3 hour, 15 question exam. Advancing to the AIME level is a significant accomplishment! We congratulate Andy on this achievement as we await the results.
