The Passing of Mark Dombroski ’17

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the loss of a dear friend and recent graduate, Mark Dombroski ’17. Mark died while on a rugby tour in Bermuda with St. Joseph’s University. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Dombroski family along with Mark’s friends and classmates. The circumstances of Mark’s death are still under investigation by the authorities.

The school community gathered in prayer Monday afternoon in the Oratory and again for a Memorial Mass Tuesday morning. During the Mass, we sang If I Could Just Sit With You Awhile by Martin Doman:

Lord I need you now more than I know how
So I humbly bow hidden in You.

If I could just sit with You awhile
If you could just hold me
Nothing could touch me,
Though I’m wounded, though I die
If I could just sit with you awhile
I need you to hold me
Moment by moment til forever passes by.

As more details emerge, we will inform the Archmere community about services. During this difficult time, we ask for your understanding and that you respect the privacy of Mark’s family and friends.

Please keep the Dombroski family in your prayers.
