Parent Clubs

At Archmere Academy, parents are as much a part of the community as the students, faculty and staff who are on campus every day. Parent volunteers give of their time and talents to enhance the academic, spiritual and community experience that is Archmere. The two parent clubs on campus are the Mothers' Guild and the Fathers' Club. These organizations are not only incredibly successful in raising funds for the school, but also play an important role in sustaining the academy's traditions and building it's community.

The Mother's Guild

The Archmere Mothers’ Guild was founded to connect the Archmere community and to provide opportunities for this community to prosper. To achieve this goal, we need support and participation, and we hope to bring together as many people as possible in this adventure. All Archmere mothers are members of the Mothers' Guild and are welcome at all meetings. Mothers' Guild meetings are held in the Student Life Center and will begin with a potluck dinner at 6:30pm. Mothers' Guild signature events/activities include:
  • The Garden Rosary Tea, held in the fall, is a wonderful way to spend the day. After praying the rosary in the garden, we convene in the patio for tea, sandwiches, and light desserts, friendship and conversation.
  • The Fashion Show is a showcase for Senior students, but all are welcome to attend this fun event. The show, auction, and other shopping make this one of our major fundraisers.
  • The Mothers’ Guild Retreat, which occures in early spring, is a time for renewal and contemplation.
  • The Garage Sale brings together the whole Archmere and Claymont community for a giant Garage Sale. Starting in the fall, Mothers’ Guild and Fathers’ Club begin collecting goods for resale at this event. A Mothers’ Guild presale and wine and cheese party are just some of the highlights of this resale extravaganza.
  • Faculty and Staff Appreciation Breakfasts and the Christmas Fund are ways in which the Mothers' Guild helps to show appreciation and support to the faculty and staff of Archmere. About once a month, the Mothers’ Guild puts together a breakfast for faculty and staff as a way of saying “Thank you” for everything they do. We also collect funds at Christmas for a holiday cash gift.
  • The New Mothers’ Social and Volunteer Recognition Night is an opportunity to meet new mothers, and to present the school with funds to support many wonderful endeavors.

The Fathers' Club

The Archmere Fathers’ Club supports Archmere Academy with its time and talents for the purpose of enriching the academic, social, athletic, and faith experience of our students. The Fathers’ Club meets ten times per year, beginning with our August pre-planning meeting and ending in May. We meet on the first Thursday of the month, from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in The Patio. We accomplish this by running projects and events to raise funds that are used to provide targeted financial support for a variety of aspects of the school’s daily life. Signature Fathers' Club events include:
  • AUK Madness, a scotch and cigar night during the first week of the NCAA "March Madness" Tournament, held in The Patio
  • Guest Bartending Night, a fundraiser for the school featuring coaches, teachers and parents as bartenders, held off campus in May
  • The Fathers' Club Retreat, which occurs in the spring and offers a theme and opportunity for reflection
