Learning Specialist Responsibilities:
Help students in developing effective learning strategies to promote academic improvement. Provide one-on-one and small-group support/instruction, and build trusting relationships with students.
Manage all documentation/accommodations and write individual learning plans (ILPs) based on psychoeducational testing reports.
Submit accommodations requests with College Board and ACT and assist with proctoring duties for testing for approved students.
Collaborate with Counselors, Principal, and Director of Academics to implement study skills programs; most notably, the Learning Specialist will play a central role in our Summer Enrichment Program for incoming 9th graders.
Stay current with new developments in teaching methods and educational psychology. Support teaching staff and parents by offering resources, assistance, advice, and/or training to better meet the needs of all learners.
Maintain professional relationships with psychologists and neuropsychologists in the area as a referral base; possess a solid understanding of processes related to psychoeducational testing and outcomes.
Coordinate peer tutors in coordination with the National Honor Society Facilitator.
Learning Specialist Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Education, though Master's is preferred
Experience teaching/guiding students in a rigorous high school curriculum
Extensive knowledge of learning differences and strategies therein
Familiarity and experience with the accommodations request process for College Board and ACT
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and school administration

Our Athletic Trainers are the primary and often sole caregivers providing superior rehabilitative care to injured high school athletes. Duties include prevention, evaluation, documentation, education, immediate care, referrals, coordination of care of athletic injuries, and communicating with coaches, athletes, and their parents.
