Boys Lacrosse Team Fundraises for Cancer

For the past few weeks, the boys lacrosse team has been participating in a Stick It To Cancer fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. At the Stick It To Cancer Nationwide, participants and volunteers come together to honor cancer survivors, spread the word about reducing cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives. According to the lacrosse team's website, they have "formed this team because cancer has touched all of us in some way. And we want to stop this disease in its tracks." Their fundraising team page is currently ranked #1 out of 49 teams.

The money that the team raises helps the American Cancer Society in multiple ways. From funding innovative research and providing free information for people dealing with the disease, to rides to treatment and places to stay for people who have to seek treatment far from home, the benefits of this cause are far reaching.

During the team's May 8th game with Caesar Rodney High School, they plan to honor the lives lost to cancer, celebrate survivors, and support the caregivers who so selflessly help others.
