Archmere Girls Lacrosse Caps Historic Season with State Semifinal Run, Postseason Honors
The Archmere girls lacrosse team put together one of the program’s most memorable seasons in recent years, advancing to the State Semifinals and earning a host of postseason accolades along the way.
The Auks made a statement during the State Tournament with a landmark 10-7 victory over Tatnall in the Quarterfinal round. The win marked Archmere’s first triumph over the perennial powerhouse in many years and secured the program’s Semifinal appearance. Archmere’s postseason run came to an end in the State Semifinals with a hard-fought loss to Tower Hill, but the team’s accomplishments throughout the season left a lasting impression.
Leading the way was junior midfielder Ellie DeLuca, who was named Conference Player of the Year and a Delaware Lacrosse All-American. DeLuca also earned First Team All-Conference honors and First Team All-State, playing a pivotal role in guiding the Auks to their deep postseason run.

Archmere’s success was reflected in the postseason awards, with six players earning First Team All-Conference recognition. Joining Ellie DeLuca on the first team were sophomore midfielder Giada Giordano, freshman attacker Annie DeLuca, senior attacker Claudia Koch, senior defender Riley Burke, and junior goalie Mia Luce.
The Auks also placed three players on the Second Team All-Conference squad, including sophomore midfielder Caroline Hahn, junior attacker Breanne Hughes, and freshman defender Lauren Wenger.
Senior Sarah Dahms was recognized with Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, capping off a strong career in an Archmere uniform.
The team's achievements were further recognized with Conference Coach of the Year honors awarded to Head Coach Logan Duffie.
Senior Claudia Koch and junior Ellie DeLuca were recognized as First Team All-State selections, earning distinction among the top players in the state for their outstanding performances throughout the season. Freshman Annie DeLuca was named to the Second Team All-State squad, an impressive achievement in her first year at the varsity level. Junior Mia Luce and senior Riley Burke also received statewide recognition, earning Honorable Mention All-State honors for their significant contributions and strong play during the season.
