Archmere Academy is a Catholic, Norbertine college preparatory school, valuing community, respect, zeal, reverence, and wisdom. Nurturing body and soul, mind and heart, Archmere focuses on the whole person through academic excellence, faith reflection, social development, and service to others. Inspired by its heritage, Archmere cultivates empathetic leaders- young men and women prepared for every good work.

Since opening its doors in 1932, Archmere Academy is known for its rigorous academic program. The academic disciplines foster critical thinking skills, strengthen analytical reasoning, and foster intellectual creativity through each department. Parents and caregivers choose Archmere for their children because choosing our door opens others. Students choose Archmere because of the opportunities available to them. 

We strive to inspire students to challenge themselves, think critically, and ultimately reach their greatest potential. The dedicated faculty at Archmere shows a commitment to student learning and provides personal attention for students, creating an authentic student-teacher connection that's based on trust, respect, and a shared pursuit of achievement.

  • Twenty-two Students Compete in the National French Exam

    Congratulations to the twenty-two French students who elected to compete in the National French Contest on their stellar performance! This challenging exam, sponsored by the American Association Teachers of French, tests grammar, vocabulary, auditory skills and reading comprehension. Over 40,240 students participated in the national exam in March. The number in parentheses represents the placement in the State of Delaware.

  • Update: Archmere Art Students Recognized With 159 Scholastic Art Awards!

    This is an update to the original January press release:

    Even MORE Scholastic Art Awards!
    This year, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards website updates resulted in some delayed awards notifications. We are excited to have just learned that Archmere Art and Design students have won an additional 16 Scholastic Art Awards, bringing the total number of awards to a record 159 individual awards for Archmere Academy!

  • Archmere Names National Honor Society Members

    The National Honor Society recognizes students who have excelled in four areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. The Archmere chapter requires juniors and seniors to have a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.70 or higher to qualify for membership. Members are expected to serve as peer tutors, mini-roster night guides, and participate in NHS sponsored charity programs. On April 17th, Archmere inducted the newest members from the class of 2024 and the class of 2025. This year marked the 51st annual Honors Convocation held at Archmere Academy, first instituted in 1973 by then headmaster Father Justin E. Diny, O. Praem. On these occasions the Academy accords public recognition to those students who, because of their superior academic accomplishments, have been granted membership in various National Honor Societies.
