Archmere Academy is a Catholic, Norbertine college preparatory school, valuing community, respect, zeal, reverence, and wisdom. Nurturing body and soul, mind and heart, Archmere focuses on the whole person through academic excellence, faith reflection, social development, and service to others. Inspired by its heritage, Archmere cultivates empathetic leaders- young men and women prepared for every good work.

Since opening its doors in 1932, Archmere Academy is known for its rigorous academic program. The academic disciplines foster critical thinking skills, strengthen analytical reasoning, and foster intellectual creativity through each department. Parents and caregivers choose Archmere for their children because choosing our door opens others. Students choose Archmere because of the opportunities available to them. 

We strive to inspire students to challenge themselves, think critically, and ultimately reach their greatest potential.   • Archmere Academy Approved for Reaccreditation by the Middle States Association

    The Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) recently announced the list of schools that have earned accreditation or reaccreditation. Archmere Academy is pleased to announced that the school has been approved for reaccreditation following the successful November visit from the Middle States Team. Archmere voluntarily participates in the Middle States Accreditation process to help foster positive development and growth within the school.

  • Josh Hanson '26

    Josh Hanson '26 Wins First Place at New Castle Science Fair, Advances to Delaware Valley

    Archmere junior Josh Hanson won First Place at the 30th Annual New Castle County Science Fair, in the high school category of Zoology for his project titled, “Decomposers and Plastics”. Josh’s research project focused on the effect of plastics on the environment that decomposers such as snails and meal worms live in, and how plastics subsequently affects them. In addition, he also won an individual award for his research on plastics.

  • Thirty-Six Students Compete in the National French Exam

    Congratulations to the 36 French students who elected to compete in the National French Contest on their stellar performance! This challenging exam, sponsored by the American Association Teachers of French, tests grammar, vocabulary, auditory skills and reading comprehension. Over 41,458 U.S. High School students participated in the national exam in March-April 2025. The number in parentheses represents the placement in the State of Delaware.
