The summer months in College Counseling are still busy as our office is open throughout the entire year. The first few weeks of June are generally about assessment, planning for the 2026 -’27 school year, setting dates, and tidying up the final requirements for the Class of 2026. This week alone consists of final reports, meetings with rising sophomores and juniors, senior college essay reviews, final transcript uploads and submissions to colleges, and updating all guides and worksheets in our curriculum.
As is tradition, this past Friday, we proudly celebrated College Decision Day with the Class of 2026. The occasion honored our seniors’ four years of dedication at Archmere, their thoughtful and student-centered college search and application journey, and the bright futures that await them after graduation.
Twenty-three Archmere parents, alumni, and friends, donated their time to talk with juniors during twenty educational sessions and a keynote address on Wednesday, March 26th. It was terrific proof of the power of the Archmere network, as students got to hear from engineers, a computer scientist, a nurse, an architect, doctors, a real estate agent, a school counselor, wealth investors, and a sports entertainer.
Junior School Day SAT - Mr. Jezyk is handling the coordination and registration for our In-School SAT on Monday, March 13th. About 75% of the class is already registered for the test. Please see Mr. Jezyk with questions.
Today the College Counseling Office coordinated three programs, one for each of the Archmere classes. First year students participated in the Great Sorting Game, an exercise that introduced students to the College Counseling office, allowing our staff to share healthy messages about our office’s services and discuss items that may impact future admission decisions.
The next round of application decisions began to drop in the second half of January. Students have, or will receive, decisions from Purdue, Miami, Villanova, Richmond, Rutgers, and James Madison to name a few.
