This past Friday, February 28, I volunteered at the Faithful Friends Animal Shelter in Wilmington, Delaware with the Community Service Club. The community service club provides a different site every day of the week for students to volunteer after school. I decided to volunteer at Faithful Friends because I love animals and always enjoy spending time helping others. At the animal shelter, there are rooms full of cats and dogs who are waiting to be adopted. I spent time petting and playing with the many different types of cats - senior cats, semi-social cats, and even cats with leukemia. I enjoyed playing with the older cats because they are always up for a belly rub, but the younger cats are more playful and curious. This opportunity to volunteer at the animal shelter has allowed me to give back to my community while having fun at the same time!
