Monthly College Counseling Update: November 2020

Junior College Panel

Last week we held the Junior College Panel, which marks the unofficial start of the formal college search process for the Class of 2022. We welcomed five college representatives to answer questions about the college applications, decisions, and searches from students and parents. Juniors will be able to schedule an introductory meeting with their college counselor starting next week. Parents of juniors will be asked to attend one of two Junior Parent College Nights. The dates are December 14th and January 13th. The programs are identical so there is no reason to attend both. Registration will be available soon.
ACT Information

We’re offering a free practice ACT in December. In person tests are available to juniors; please register here by 12/5
. Juniors who cannot attend the date and sophomores can self-administer a test, to request this option please complete this form. The deadline to register for the self-administration is also 12/5. We plan on offering a free practice SAT in January.

Decisions Are Rolling In...

Several seniors have received positive replies from colleges who review on a rolling admission basis. Some schools have also begun to release EA and ED decisions earlier than normal, however, most early application schools will release decisions in mid-December. Most remaining applications are due after the New Year. Seniors are encouraged to share their decisions with the college counseling office and continue to ask questions about their regular decision applications.
