"The seventh-seeded Archmere soccer team opened the first round of the DIAA Division II soccer tournament against the No. 10 Sussex Academy on November 9, and the game almost lasted until the 10th. Eighty minutes wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t until sophomore Karol Diaz scored the golden goal in the 99th minute that the Auks earned a 1-0 win at Abessinio Stadium."
Archmere soccer came into the DIAA State Tournament winning seven of their last eight games. The first round game against Sussex Academy was a thrilling nail biter, resulting in two fifteen minute, overtime sessions under the lights at the Abessinio Stadium before sophomore Karol Diaz scored. His goal was assisted by senior Mark Chua.

The Auks moved on to face #2 seeded Caravel in the Quarterfinals on Saturday, November 13. They played at Caravel, falling 4-0. Archmere finished with an 11-6 record overall.
